Hi @mike1819,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your new laptop to the HP Deskjet 3511 printer, you can follow these steps.

Wireless Connection

Power on the Printer:

  • Make sure your HP Deskjet 3511 printer is turned on and properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.

Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • Press the Wireless button on the printer. The wireless light will start blinking.
  • Press and hold the WPS button on your router until the connection process starts. The wireless light on the printer should stop blinking and remain solid when connected.

Install Printer Drivers on Your Laptop:

  • On your laptop, go to the HP Support website.
  • Search for your printer model (HP Deskjet 3511).
  • Download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.

Add the Printer on Your Laptop:

  • Windows:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    • Click on Add a printer or scanner.
    • Select your HP Deskjet 3511 from the list and click Add device.
  • Mac:
    • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    • Click the + button to add a printer.
    • Select your HP Deskjet 3511 and click Add.

Test the Printer:

  • Open any document or image and try printing to ensure the printer is connected and working correctly.

USB Connection

If you prefer a USB connection:

Connect the Printer to Your Laptop:

  • Use a USB cable to connect the printer directly to your laptop.

Install Printer Drivers:

  • Follow the same driver installation steps as mentioned above.

Add the Printer:

  • Windows or Mac: The operating system should automatically detect the printer connected via USB. You can check under Printers & Scanners in the settings.

Test the Printer.

After following these steps, your new laptop should be connected to the HP Deskjet 3511 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
