Error Code: UA_200_XXXXXXXXXX - - - i got this error message when i was trying to set up the new hp smart app.  btw - when did this happen?????  i did not get an email, notice, or anything about the new app.  i happened to go to check something and saw that it wanted me to set up my printer.  i am retired so i do not scan or print often.

is there something special i should be doing?

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with the new HP Smart app, which was recently updated. This update may have been released without much prior notification, which is why you might not have received any emails or notices about it.

 

The error code UA_200_XXXXXXXXXX you're seeing is likely related to an issue with the setup process in the new app. This could be due to various reasons, such as connectivity problems, software glitches, or incompatibility with existing printer settings.


Ensure Internet Connection:

  • Make sure your printer and the device you are using (PC, smartphone, etc.) are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Check if your internet connection is stable.

Update HP Smart App:

  • Ensure that you are using the latest version of the HP Smart app. If not, update it via the relevant app store (Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or Microsoft Store).

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and the device you're using to set up the HP Smart app.
  • Close and reopen the HP Smart app after the restart.

Reinstall the HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app from your device.
  • Download and reinstall the latest version from the official app store.

Clear App Data (If Applicable):

  • If you’re on a mobile device, clear the app's cache/data through the device settings to reset any potential issues.

Try a Different Device:

  • If possible, try setting up the HP Smart app on a different device (another smartphone, tablet, or computer).

HP Printer & Scan Doctor (Windows):

  • If you're using a Windows PC, you can download and run the HP Printer & Scan Doctor tool, which can automatically diagnose and fix common issues.

Manual Setup:

Alden4 - thank you but almost all of your suggestions were tried prior to my question submittal.  i had contacted someone from HP and they spent approx. 45 minutes attempting to resolve.  HP printer & HP laptop do not like each other, i guess.  i do not use my phone for printing apps since it is very cumbersome to click phone app when trying to scan or copy something.
