HI @rod1540,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To remove the sign-in requirement for scanning on your HP OfficeJet 9120e, follow these steps:

Disable Sign-In for HP Smart

Open HP Smart App:

  • Launch the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.

Access Settings:

  • Click on the printer icon or select Settings (gear icon).

Account Settings:

  • Look for any options related to your HP account or sign-in preferences.
  • If you see an option for "Account Settings" or "Manage Printer," check if there's a way to disable the sign-in requirement.

Reset Network Settings

If the sign-in continues to be an issue, you can reset the printer’s network settings:

Control Panel on Printer:

  • Go to the printer’s control panel.
  • Navigate to Network Settings or Wireless Settings.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Look for an option to reset network settings to default. This may remove any saved accounts or configurations.

Check Printer Firmware

Ensure your printer firmware is up to date:

  1. Update Firmware:
    • In the HP Smart app, check for firmware updates and install them if available.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
