When I browse to the embedded web server on my newly installed 9010e from firefox or chromium, it doesn't prompt for the admin password. If I signout and click the " OK" in the pop-up box to sign in again, it doesn't give me an a chance to give the admin password.

When I use HP smart from my wife's windows machine it does prompt for the password.

It appears I'm not the only one as there are quite a few queries about this.

I need admin access to the ews.

Hi @jimbox51,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9019e All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Let's try resetting the printer and check once

1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Resetting the printer's network settings to its factory default settings erases the embedded Web server (EWS) administrator password.

Follow these steps to reset the printer to the factory default settings:-

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch

 ( Setup ).

2. Touch Network Setup.

3. Touch Restore Network Settings.

4. Touch Yes.

5. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset

Login to the EWS page with the default credentials and change the password.

Username: admin

Password: "leave it blank"

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
