Hi @Varmint19,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Load Paper" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020, even when the tray is full, could be due to several issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check Paper Alignment:
- Ensure that the paper is properly aligned in the tray. The paper should not be overfilled and should sit below the paper guides.
Paper Guides:
- Make sure the paper guides are adjusted to fit the size of the paper you're using. If the guides are too tight or too loose, it can cause paper feed issues.
Inspect Paper Tray:
- Remove the paper tray and check for any obstructions or debris. Make sure there are no small pieces of paper or other objects that might be blocking the paper feed mechanism.
Clean Paper Feed Rollers:
- Dust and paper residue can affect the paper feed rollers. Clean them gently with a lint-free cloth or a soft brush.
Check Paper Type:
- Verify that you are using the correct paper type and weight for your printer. Some printers have trouble with thicker or coated papers.
Reload Paper:
- Remove the paper, fan it to prevent sticking, and reload it into the tray. This can help if the paper is sticking together.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve bugs or issues related to paper handling.
Reset Printer:
- Try resetting the printer to its factory settings. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues.
Check for Error Messages:
- Look for any additional error messages or lights on the printer that might provide more details on the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
