SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION

Hi @Yves_ssl ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message "SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION" typically indicates an issue with the SSL/TLS protocol version being used. This error commonly occurs when there is a mismatch between the SSL/TLS versions supported by the client (your computer) and the server (the device or service you are trying to connect to).

In the context of an Officejet Pro 8100 printer, it's unusual to encounter SSL errors directly related to the printer itself, as printers typically don't use SSL for printing functions. However, if you are accessing a web interface for your printer or using a feature that involves a secure connection, the error might be related to the SSL/TLS version used by the web server on the printer.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Update Browser: Ensure that you are using an up-to-date and supported web browser. Try accessing the printer's web interface using a different browser to see if the issue persists.

SSL/TLS Settings: Check the SSL/TLS settings on your web browser. Make sure that SSL and TLS are enabled. You can usually find these settings in the browser's security or advanced settings.

Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, cached data in your browser can cause issues. Clear your browser cache and try accessing the printer's web interface again.

Check Printer's SSL/TLS Settings: If your printer has SSL/TLS settings, check them to see if there are any configuration options related to SSL versions. Make sure the printer's SSL/TLS settings match the capabilities of your web browser.

Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Check the printer HP website for any available firmware updates.

Network Security Software: If you have security software or a firewall on your computer, it's possible that it is interfering with the SSL connection. Temporarily disable the security software and check if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
