HP Recommended

have connected OLD  Lasejet 6P with USB/parallel to my iMac

 

have successfully added iMac USB to Parellel on printer ( it shows up in my list of printers)

 

when trying to print a document, all I get is a headers spread over 3 lines:

 

%! PS-Adobe -3.0 

                                    %APL_DSC_ Encoding: UTF8

                                                                                            %APLProducer: (version 10.15.17 (Build !9H20

 

followed by many blank pages 

followed by pages with many lines the are strings of  what I believe is hex  with no spaces

 

I'm close to printing  a document but no CIGAR 

 

help from the community has gotten me this far
