Is there HP OCR software for my 3632 printer so that I can scan a text document and save as a "txt" file instead of PDF or JPEG?

@ralphmans, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To scan text documents and convert them into editable text files (such as ".txt" files), you need Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software.

HP Smart App:

  • The HP Smart app includes some OCR capabilities, allowing you to scan and edit text documents. Ensure you have the latest version installed.
  • You can download the HP Smart app from the HP Smart App Download Page.

I suggest you refer to this guide: HP printers - Scan as Editable Text (OCR) with HP Scan (Windows) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
