p1505
macOS 12.0 Monterey

In searching for how to print on both sides of the paper for a P1505 LaserJet printer, I found the following URL: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-p1500-printer-series/3435666/model/3435667/document... with a sub-title "Set up a two-sided (duplex) print job with an HP inkjet or LaserJet printer using settings in the print driver."  (note "LaserJet").  There is a section for Mac's.  The instructions cover how to print on both sides when the driver does not support it: you do two prints: one for odd pages, then another for even pages.  You need to manually move the first set of printed pages to the paper feed before the second print job.  There is an explanation about how to place the paper (printed side up or down ..) and how to select settings in the print dialog box (odd/even, reverse/normal).  The exact steps and settings depend (according to the page) on where the paper feed is located: front or top-rear.  The P1505 has a paper feed in the front.

The instructions are wrong.  It seems they might work with an InkJet (where the bottom sides of paper gets the ink), but not for the P1505 Laser printer (where the top sides of the paper gets the toner).  If you follow the instructions, you get the same side printed twice (even page printed on top of the odd page)!  If you load the paper printed side down, it will print both sides. However, the stack at the end is not correctly stacked: one has to manually reverse each page to get 1,2,3,4, .. correctly facing each other.  The second problem with the instructions is the settings of "reverse/normal".  The first print run should be "normal"; the second "reverse" (opposite of what is indicated). Perhaps, alternatively (not tested!), one could print even pages first rather than the odd ones.

HP:  You need to fix this page!

The instructions for WIN have an illustration of how to load paper in a laser printer.

Well, that's nice.  So, part of the content is available so someone in HP can fix the Mac page.  I wouldn't expect Mac users to click and open the Windows page .. or to look on this support forum.  It's quite easy to find and then follow the incorrect instructions.

And, again, the paper handling is only one of the problems: one needs to correctly set the odd/even, normal/reverse options. This is not covered on the Windows page.
