Hello! i have a p1005 printer that i got couple of weeks ago, at first the printer was recognized by pc then i installed the driver and worked just fine.
one day later i was going to print a pdf sheet but noticed that the printer is offline, turned off and on, nothing. ive followed some threads on hp community on how to fix this issue, ive deleted all hp drivers, registry files, and everything! when i plug the printer via usb and run the basic driver it says plug usb cable to the printer, i suspected that maybe the usb port or cable is broken so i tried it on another pc and its working like a charm! but i want it on my own pc please help 😢
reminder: all pcs are running windows 10
usb ports on my pc are working just fine, though i tried it on every usb port

Hi,
What operating system, type and language do you use? such will likely occur due to using a driver source not intended for your operating system type or locate as listed by below knowledge article:

I'm using 64 bit windows 10 english language
however, my problem is not with the driver and i already downloaded the english driver and when i run it, it says make sure to plug the printer which its already plugged!

May you plugged the cable prior of the installation?
Please unplug the USB cable and then click on Start > Settings (Gear icon) > Devices > Printers & Scanners and look for any instance of the printer there, if there is any such click Remove Device, please do not close this screen yet at this time.
Now launch the installation program once again and check for any difference, be sure to plug the USB only when the installation prompts so.
Assuming the installation does not response to the cable collection, go to the Printers & Scanners window and look if you may see any instance of the printer there or not.
Please clarify the results, if the issue remain with no change please attach the installation log file to your reply as an attachment, you will find the log within C Drive, named as HPLJP1000_P1500_Series.log

Hello.
Yesterday the power went off all around the city for about 20 minutes then came back on.
So i turned on my pc to try you suggestions.
However, when i pluged the printer, it appeared in the devices and printers (which it didn't before) i immediately ran the driver and installation was successful. I tested the printer and worked fine.
But after an hour appeared offline in devices and printers. This is really confusing and frustrating. I've never encountered a problem like this.
Anyway i will get the log once i return home
Thank you
