Microsoft Windows 11

Just bought HP 8125e printer. Can I use my old HP Office Jet Pro 6968 power cord with my new 8125e?  I will have to move heavy furniture to unplug old power cord and install the new power cord.

@JimB131,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Because the HP OfficeJet Pro 8125e and the OfficeJet Pro 6968 both use a standard detachable AC power cord (IEC 60320 C7, also called a “figure-8” connector).

  • If your old cord is in good condition (no fraying, kinks, or exposed wires), you can safely use it with your new 8125e.

  • Both printers are auto-sensing for input voltage (100–240V, 50/60 Hz), so the cord itself is interchangeable.

  • The only time you’d need to swap cords is if the old one were damaged or if HP had supplied a region-specific cord (e.g., EU vs. US plug).

So yes, you can keep the old cord plugged in and just connect it to the new printer without moving heavy furniture!

Kind Regards,
