If you can print from your mobile phone but not from your PC, the issue is likely with your PC's printer settings or driver. Here’s how to troubleshoot and fix it:
Check Printer Connection
- Ensure your PC and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Restart both the PC and the printer.
- Try printing a test page from the PC.
Set the Printer as Default
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on HP ENVY 5540 and select Set as default printer.
Check Color Printing Settings
- Open the document you want to print.
- Press Ctrl + P and click Printer Properties.
- Go to the Paper/Quality or Color tab.
- Ensure Color is selected instead of Grayscale or Black & White.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Go to Device Manager (Press Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Print queues, right-click HP ENVY 5540, and select Update driver.
- If the issue persists, uninstall the printer from Control Panel > Devices and Printers, then reinstall it using HP Smart or from (HP Support).
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Download here).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to fix printing issues.
Check Print Spooler Service
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
