@lilchi, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 7640 is having trouble with its standalone copy function, which should work independently of an internet connection. Here are some troubleshooting steps to fix this issue:

Basic Checks

1. Restart the Printer

>Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for 1-2 minutes, and then turn it back on.

2. Check the Scanner Glass & ADF

>If you're copying from the scanner glass, ensure it's clean.

>If using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), make sure there’s no paper jam.

3. Try Copying Without Network

>Disconnect the printer from Wi-Fi and retry copying.

>If it still shows the no internet connection error, move to the next steps.

Reset & Troubleshooting

4. Hard Reset the Printer

>With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back and the wall socket.

>Wait 60 seconds and reconnect the power.

5. Check for Firmware Updates

>If your printer is connected to Wi-Fi, check for firmware updates in Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.

6. Perform a Partial Reset

>On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.

>Confirm and wait for the printer to restart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
