@sdpo1, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP printer.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

A "printer bit 64 error" can indicate a number of issues, often related to drivers or software conflicts on a 64-bit operating system. Here's how you can try to resolve this:

  1. Check for Latest Drivers:

    • Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed.
  2. Uninstall and Reinstall the Printer:

    • Uninstall the printer from your computer completely.
    • Reboot your computer and reinstall the printer using the latest drivers. This can often resolve conflicts that cause errors.
  3. Update Your Operating System:

    • Make sure your operating system has all the latest updates installed as these can include fixes for known issues with printers.
  4. Check for Software Conflicts:

    • Ensure that no other printer software is causing conflicts. Sometimes third-party printer software can interfere with your printer's operation.
  5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

    • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. This tool can automatically diagnose and resolve a wide range of issues.
  6. Check for Firmware Updates:

    • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer, as these may resolve or prevent errors related to compatibility.
  7. Disable VPNs or Firewalls:

    • Disable any VPNs or firewall software temporarily to see if these might be causing connectivity issues with your printer.
  8. Use a Different USB Port or Cable (if applicable):

    • If your printer is connected via USB, try using a different USB port or a new USB cable to rule out issues with the hardware connection.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
