Hi @Etzer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Good morning! If you've lost the ability to print from your HP printer after a power outage, there could be several reasons why this might happen. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help restore your printing capabilities:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Restart Devices:
    • Begin by turning off your printer and unplugging it from the power source. Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
    • Similarly, restart your computer to ensure it starts in a fresh state.

  2. Check Connections:
    • Ensure that all cables connecting your printer and computer are secure.
    • If using a USB connection, try connecting the printer to a different USB port on your computer.

  3. Verify Network Connection:
    • If your printer is connected via a Wi-Fi network, ensure that both your printer and computer are connected to the same network.
    • Restart your router by unplugging it, waiting for about 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in.

  4. Set Printer as Default:
    • On your computer, access the Printers & Scanners settings.
    • Ensure your HP printer is set as the default printer.
  5. Check Printer Status:
    • Ensure that there are no error messages on the printer display.
    • Check if there are any pending jobs in the print queue that could be causing the issue. Clear the queue if necessary.

  6. Reinstall Printer Drivers:
    • Go to the Official HP® Support to download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install them on your computer.
    • Remove the printer from your "Printers & Scanners" list and add it again post-driver installation.

  7. Perform a Test Print:
    • Try printing a test page to check if the issue is resolved.

  8. HP Smart App:
    • You can also use the HP Smart app for additional troubleshooting options and to manage your printer settings.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the printing issue caused by the power loss.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
