Product: office jet pro 8710
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) 
i connected my printer with a network cable and it works fine but i would like to connect it with a usb cable to a local pc at the same time.
Is that possible ?
now I have to unplug the network cable before it can print via USB.
scanning is much faster if it is connected via USB.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

That's right. USB and LAN together does not work!

But WLAN and USB works fine, see here.
