OJP 8610e
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

After a year one of the computers on this wireless network won't communicate with the 8610.  I went into the Win7 control panel to uninstall all the HP programs.  There are 4.  All but the "basic driver" program uninstalled easily.  The basic driver ininstall gave me error messages saying that two .dll files were missing.  Program did not uninstall so when i the download the current full driver pack, 3 of the 4 install but the basic drivers doesn't even try as I guess it seems like it is already there on the computer.

Any thoughts on a fix?

Good day @DS495,

This is a great place to visit for Community and HP support! I would really like to be able to help you with getting the old printer files uninstalled and reinstalled again.

Please try these steps in this order:

From Devices and Printers, highlight your printer or any icon available in this window.

Click on Print Server Properties above, then click on the Driver tab and remove the printer if it is listed.

Then in the printer's window, right click and delete the printer icon.

Here are the steps for editing the Registry.

Back up the registry first, before attempting any of these stepsBack up the registry.

For non-HP computers:

Press the Windows key and R, the run box will open.

Type in regedit and press OK.

Click the + signs beside the following:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and remove the HP/Hewlett-Packard folders.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and remove the HP/Hewlett-Packard folders.

For HP computers:

Press the Windows key and R, the run box will open.

Type in regedit and press OK.

Go to the Edit tab, then click on Find.

In the search box, type "officejet 8610"  and click Find Next.

Only certain ones will be relating to the printer, and they will have some indication in the description. When it finds one of the entries, and you have confirmed it is related to the printer, within a reasonable doubt, you can delete it by hitting Delete on the keyboard.

Once one entry is deleted, hit F3 on the keyboard, which stands for Find Next.

Repeat the process until all "officejet 8610" printer entries are deleted.

Restart the computer.

Perform a clean boot on the computer and turn off the Antivirus Software. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

If the issue is resolved, your welcome to show your appreciation by clicking the "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up". Let me know how you make out. Thank you.

HI Ciara,

I would be happy to lable the thread as solved but don't see a way to accomplish that.  You can mark it for me if you wish.
