Hi @foysal074,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to install the HP Laser 1008a printer driver on your Microsoft Surface Pro 11 with the ARM64 Snapdragon processor, follow these suggestions:
Check for ARM64 Compatible Drivers:
- HP provides drivers for Windows ARM-based devices, but not all printers may have specific ARM64 drivers.
- Go to the HP Support page and search for your printer model. Make sure you're selecting the driver package that supports Windows ARM (if available). If no ARM64 driver is available, you may need to use a Windows 10 or 11 x64 driver in compatibility mode (details below).
Install Using Windows Compatibility Mode: If no specific ARM64 drivers are available, try installing the x64 version of the driver in compatibility mode:
- Download the x64 version of the driver for your HP Laser 1008a from the HP website.
- Right-click the downloaded driver setup file and select Properties.
- Under the Compatibility tab, check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 10 or Windows 7.
- Click Apply and OK.
- Now, run the setup file and follow the installation prompts.
Windows Update:
- Windows may have a generic driver for your printer. Check if Windows can automatically install a compatible driver:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.
- If a compatible printer driver is available, it will be automatically installed.
Use the Universal Print Driver (UPD):
- HP offers a Universal Print Driver (UPD) that can work with many HP LaserJet printers, including older models.
- Download the HP Universal Print Driver and try installing it. This driver is often compatible with various HP printers and may resolve the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
