HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
macOS 10.12 Sierra

I just bought a 9015e printer.  My wife and I spent 4 person-house trying to install and get it working.  Install good on her new-er Mac.  Cannot install on my old 10.12.6 Mac OS.

Installer clearly says 10.12.6 is not supported.  But other Q&A from HP says it IS supported. How can I get my Mac to talk to this printer?

I am ok if I have to use a cable but I really bought it for wireless.  Even with a cable I assume you need a "latest driver".

Must I return the product?  I never would have purchased it had the info page on ordering SAID it would not work on 10.12.6.

Thanks...

Hi,

Generally the printer is supported on macOS 10.14 or later versions, it is incompatible with 10.12 and therefore fails to install:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-9010e-all-in-one-printer-series/38023430/docum...

If your Mac hardware supports it, I would fist suggest to upgrade your macOS version to a later supported version if applicable:

https://support.apple.com/en-il/HT201541

Otherwise, although not officially supported please give AirPrint a try and check if you may print using AirPrint:

Hope that helps,

Shlomi

Yes, appleprint SOLVED the problem.  Yikes!

It is so simple.  Connect your printer to WIFI and then, it works!  I had never heard of appleprint and worried I had to install more junk on my older Mac just to get it to work.  It's there ALREADY.  10.12.6 and, I believe, earlier.

Just try to print and your wifi connected printer shows up as you try to select a printer on which to print.

The cool thing in the design is that it requires NO DRIVERS be installed on your Mac.  it justs works!  I suspect this to be true for MANY HP printers.
