I worked it out myself. I just removed printer from my  Mac then pressed add printer and reinstalled it.

All working fine now. Thank you.

I have a 27 inch Imac running Tahoe 26.2 my printer is an Hp Envy Aspire 7200. Hp site has no drive for mac says I need to download a generic driver, but i might  just look for a new printer that can connect with Tahoe be it epson, brother or cannon as the printers I have looked at on Hp site do not seem to cater for Tahoe.

Hi @JTBruv,

Thank you for the response.

I understand your printer shows “can’t find printer” for printing even though scanning works and Wi-Fi is connected on your iMac. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Understand driver availability on macOS Tahoe (26.2)
HP does not provide a full-featured macOS driver for the ENVY 7200 series on newer macOS versions.
Printing is supported through Apple’s built-in AirPrint driver instead of an HP download.

Remove the existing printer entry
Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
Select the HP printer and click Remove (–) to clear the old configuration.

Restart the printer and the iMac
Turn the printer off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
Restart the iMac to refresh network discovery and printer services.

Add the printer again using AirPrint
Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer (+).
Select the HP ENVY 7200 from the list and confirm AirPrint is selected as the driver.

Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network
Check the Wi-Fi name (SSID) on the printer and the iMac.
Printing will fail if one device is on a guest or different band network.

Check macOS firewall or network isolation settings
Ensure the firewall is not blocking local network devices.
Router features like client/AP isolation can prevent printing but still allow scanning.

Test printing with a simple document
Print a basic text document or test page after re-adding the printer.
This confirms the AirPrint queue is working correctly.

Understand why scanning still works
Scanning uses a different network service than printing.
This behavior confirms the printer hardware and Wi-Fi are working, and the issue is print-driver related.

I hope this helps.
