Printer started cutting off the left side of the page though the print preview looks perfectly fine. It happens in all types of documents , PDF, excel etc

@KG157, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your Samsung Xpress SL-M2830DW Laser Printer is cutting off the left side of the page on Windows 11, even though print preview looks correct, here are steps to troubleshoot and fix it:
Check Paper Size and Layout Settings
Sometimes, mismatched paper size between the document and printer can cause clipping.
Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
Right-click the Samsung Xpress SL-M2830DW > choose Printing Preferences
Under Paper tab, ensure:
Paper Size = A4 or Letter (match what’s in your document)
Orientation = Portrait or Landscape as needed
Also check the Layout or Margins settings – reset them to default
Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver
Update Driver Automatically
Go to Device Manager
Expand Printers, right-click on the Samsung printer
Click Update Driver > Search automatically
Reinstall Latest Driver Manually
Go to Samsung Xpress SL-M2830DW Laser Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
Download the latest Windows 11 compatible driver
Uninstall old driver:
Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click printer > Remove device
Reinstall using downloaded driver
Check Scaling and Margins in the App
Even if the preview looks good, forced scaling settings may not render correctly on some drivers.
In each app (Word, Excel, Adobe Reader):
Ensure scaling = 100% or "Fit to page."
In Adobe Reader: go to Print > Page Sizing > Select "Fit" or "Actual Size."
Avoid "Custom scale" if it's cutting content
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
