Hi @Sassie2000,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Your HP DeskJet 2600 goes into "save" mode usually because your computer is set to a virtual PDF printer instead of your actual hardware, or "Print to file" is enabled.

To fix this quickly, try the following steps:

  • Select the Right Printer: When the print window appears (after pressing Ctrl + P), check the Destination or Printer drop-down menu. Change it from Save to PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF to your HP DeskJet 2600.
  • Uncheck "Print to File": If the print screen has a "Properties" or "Advanced" button, click it. Look for a box labeled Print to file and ensure it is unchecked.
  • Set as Default: Go to your computer's Settings or Control Panel -> Devices and Printers. Right-click the HP DeskJet 2600 and select Set as default printer.

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,

Kuroi_Kenshi
