Hi @chris2912

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Setting up printers can be frustrating, especially when they throw error messages at you. Let's get your HP DeskJet 2810e back on track.

Troubleshooting Steps

Restart Everything

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart your Windows 11 laptop as well.

Check Printer Connection

  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.
  • If using USB, try a different port or cable.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP’s support page.
  • Run the tool—it can detect and fix common issues.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X > **Device Manager`).
  • Expand Printers, right-click your HP DeskJet 2810e, and select Update driver.
  • Restart your laptop after updating.

Check Ink Cartridges

  • Open the printer and re-seat the cartridges.
  • If you’re using Instant Ink, make sure your subscription is active—some users reported errors when their subscription was canceled.

Reset Printer to Factory Defaults

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons together for 10-15 seconds.
  • Release when the printer starts blinking—this should reset it.

Try these steps and let me know how it goes! If the error persists, I can help you dig deeper. 😊
