deskjet 1112
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

hello, I have a deskjet 1112. I am unable to print. it appears to be a software issue. I am on Mac, OS (macOS 11.0 Big Sur). under system preferences>printers & scanners I am able to see the printer. it shows 'idle, last used' I've followed all the steps under the hp support article I will link to now https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2984732-2984811-16

to reiterate some of those steps. I have uninstalled and reinstalled hp smart several times. I have reset printing system several times. the device always appears in the Mac system settings, it never reads/registers as even being connected to the hp smart system. hp smart times out. I've tried refreshing and choosing wired connection. this printer always worked with no issue until the software was changed again. lastly, when I try to print a test page I can see it go into the queue then it immediately hits 100% and as far as you can tell on the Mac the page was printed, the printer shows no signs of even trying to print the page. no sound no lights flashing. nothing.

@Donovan_G, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to print from your Mac.

Let us try these steps:

Use the HP uninstaller as shown in this document. Follow steps 1-7.

Check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Now, disable any security software if you have on the Mac

To check, select the Go menu on the top of the screen and go to the Applications folder

Once disabled, click here to install the printer driver via HP Easy Start.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
