Got error 0XB87BD378 and printer stopped working.  Was told it might be a printer jam.  Checked printer for jam all good.  HP SMART can scan a page. Today I was able to print a status page.  Checked printer status it's default, OFFLINE.  How do I get it online? Please HELP.  Thank you MITTY66

Hi @Mitty66,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing with your HP printer being offline can often be resolved by following these steps:

Ensure Printer is Turned On:

  • Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your computer.

Check Physical Connections:

  • Ensure all cables (USB or network) are securely connected.

  • If using a wireless connection, ensure your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Set Printer to Online:

  • Go to the "Devices and Printers" section on your computer (Control Panel > Devices and Printers).

  • Right-click on your printer icon and choose "See what's printing."

  • In the window that opens, click on "Printer" from the top menu and uncheck "Use Printer Offline" if it's checked.

Restart the Print Spooler:

  • Open the "Services" app in Windows (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services).

  • Locate "Print Spooler" from the list and right-click on it.

  • Select "Restart."

Clear Pending Print Jobs:

  • Right-click on your printer icon again and select "See what's printing."

  • Cancel all pending jobs by selecting "Cancel All Documents" under the "Printer" menu.

Update Printer Driver:

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.

  • Wait for about 15 seconds and then plug it back in.

Network Checks:

  • Verify the network status by printing a network configuration or wireless test report to ensure the printer is properly connected to your network.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
