@tomatito, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP pro mfp 577dw.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

For HP PageWide Pro MFP 577dw, if you've encountered a regional restriction due to using 973X cartridges while the printer was originally shipped with 976Y cartridges, here are the steps you can take:

  1. Identify Region-Specific Cartridges: Ensure that you are using cartridges compatible with the region in which your printer was sold. HP printers often have regional codes that determine compatible cartridges.

  2. Replace the Cartridge: Replace the non-compatible 973X cartridge with the correct cartridge for your printer's region. In your case, switching back to the 976Y cartridges may resolve the issue.

  3. Contact HP Customer Support: If replacing the cartridges does not resolve the issue, it is advisable to contact HP Customer Support. They can provide region-specific guidance or firmware updates that may help.

  4. Consider Firmware Update: Updating the printer firmware might resolve compatibility issues. Check for any available updates that may address regional compatibility problems.

  5. Cross-Verify Cartridge Version: Ensure the cartridges purchased are indeed the updated versions that match the regional compatibility needed for your printer.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
