Hi @CC19821,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re having trouble setting up your HP Envy 1600 series printer. Let’s go through a few simple steps to get it connected and ready to use.

Prepare the Printer

Remove all packing materials from inside and outside the printer.

Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).

Turn on the printer and wait until it’s in a ready state.

Install Ink Cartridges and Paper

Open the ink access door and install the setup cartridges that came with the printer.

Load plain white paper into the input tray and close it properly.

Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi

On the printer’s control panel, press and hold the Wireless button until the light starts blinking.

Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your Wi-Fi router.

Wait until the wireless light stops blinking and remains solid — this means it’s connected.

Install the HP Smart App

On your computer or mobile device, download the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com.

Open the app and sign in or create an HP account.

Click Set Up a New Printer and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Add the Printer to Your PC or Mobile Device

Once connected, the HP Smart app will automatically detect and add your printer.

If not, go to your PC’s Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Add Device and select your HP Envy printer.

Print a Test Page

After setup, print a test page from the HP Smart app or your computer to confirm everything works correctly.

I hope this helps.
