Hi @CATEW1n,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer is stuck in copy mode and displaying a "Check Printer" message when you try to print a document, it indicates there may be an issue with the printer's settings or communication with your computer. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Restart the Printer:
- Turn Off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
- Unplug the Power Cord: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and wait for about 1-2 minutes.
- Plug In the Power Cord: Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn On the Printer: Press the power button to turn on the printer and allow it to fully initialize.
2. Check Printer Status:
- Printer Display: Look at the printer's display panel for any error messages or warnings. Resolve any displayed issues according to the printer's manual.
3. Verify Printer Connection:
- Check Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or Wi-Fi. Make sure there are no loose connections.
- Restart Computer: Sometimes, restarting your computer can help refresh the connection with the printer.
4. Clear Print Queue:
- Cancel Print Jobs: Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending print jobs.
- Restart Print Spooler: Restart the print spooler service on your computer. You can do this by going to "Services" in the Control Panel or Task Manager and restarting the "Print Spooler" service.
5. Update Printer Drivers:
- Download Latest Drivers: Visit the Hp website and download the latest printer drivers for your specific printer model and operating system.
- Install Drivers: Install the downloaded drivers on your computer following the provided instructions.
6. Reset Printer Settings:
- Factory Reset: If the issue persists, consider performing a factory reset on your printer. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
