Hi @Myprinter3700,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 3772 won’t connect to your Windows 11 computer. Please try the following steps:

Restart devices – Power cycle your printer, router, and computer.

Use HP Smart App – Download HP Smart for Windows 11 and set up the printer through it.

Check Wi-Fi – Make sure the printer is on the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network as your computer.

Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together until the Power button flashes to reset Wi-Fi, then reconnect using HP Smart.

Run Windows updates – Ensure your PC has the latest updates installed.

USB test – If wireless fails, try connecting via USB to confirm the printer works, then attempt wireless setup again.

I hope this helps.

I did all of the suggestions and still no printer, maybe because  between windows 11 and my internet only being 5g it will not connect.   but i had tried all your suggestions prior to asking for help.  This printer even before windows 11 liked to take itself offline and was a pain to get it back online.  not my most favorite printer and I have had many HP printers.  so nope not the least bit happy with this one.

Hi @Myprinter3700,

Thank you for your update and for sharing your experience. I completely understand how frustrating it must be when your HP DeskJet 3772 won’t stay connected, especially given your past difficulties and the changes with Windows 11 and your 5G network.

You’re correct, this printer is designed to work primarily on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks, and it may not connect reliably on 5G networks. That could explain why it keeps going offline.

Switch your PC to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi if possible, or temporarily set up a 2.4 GHz network on your router for the printer.

USB connection test – If you connect the printer via USB, it should work reliably on Windows 11. Once it’s working, you can attempt wireless setup again.

Firmware updates – Ensure the printer firmware is updated via HP Smart or the HP website, as updates can improve connectivity stability.

I understand this isn’t the easiest solution, and I truly appreciate your patience. If the 2.4 GHz network isn’t available, using USB is usually the most stable option for this model.

nope that doesn't help at all.  my printer is located where it is only usable if connected by wifi.  It went offline all the time even when I did have the 2.4 wifi, it will not connect at all to a 5 g wifi which is all I have available to me.  There is no option on my router to slow down my wifi.  I guess at this point I will need to research a new printer, which I find very disappointing.   Needless to say HP will be low on my list at this time.  HP Printers seem to be designed to quit become unfunctional.
