Hi @Rory12341,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw is not connecting to your PC, here are steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

1. Check the Printer's Connection Mode:

  • Ensure the printer is in Wireless Setup Mode. If not, you can activate it by:
  • Pressing and holding the Information button for three seconds until all buttons are lit.
  • Simultaneously pressing the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons until the front light becomes purple and pulses.

2. Download and Install the HP Software:

  • Use the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start to set up the printer on your network.
  • Make sure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.

3. Ensure Proper Network Setup:

  • Verify that your router is functioning properly and that the printer is within range.
  • Ensure there are no connection issues with your network by checking other devices.

4. Check Printer’s Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Check if the printer's light bar is pulsing blue, indicating it is connected to the Wi-Fi network. If it blinks purple, it is in setup mode.
  • A solid blue light indicates the printer is connected to Wi-Fi.

5. Update the Printer Firmware:

  • A firmware update might be necessary. You can update the firmware using a USB connection:
  • Connect a USB Type-A to Type-B cable between your printer and PC.
  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page, enter your product name, and download the firmware update.

6. Verify Driver Installation:

  • Ensure that the correct drivers are installed. You can download the necessary drivers from the HP website.

7. Check for Error Messages:

  • Ensure that there are no error messages on the printer's display. If any errors, resolve those first.

8. Restart Devices:

  • Try restarting both your printer and PC to reset the connection.

If you continue to experience issues, consider reaching out to HP Customer Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
