HP Recommended

Bought a new laptop (acer) with windows 11.  When I send a print job it prints out a single line of weird characters then print another page and another and so on.  The printer works fine with my old laptop that is running window7.  Do i need to download or update a driver for it to work on my new laptop?  My printer is a HP Officejet pro 8600.
