@RobF47, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're experiencing some frustrating issues with your HP DeskJet 2810e printer. Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problems you're encountering:

Check for Error Messages: Inspect the printer and your computer for any error messages or codes displayed when the issue occurs. These can provide specific guidance on what might be wrong.

Paper and Ink Check:

  • Make sure you’re using the correct type and size of paper.
  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink. Replace any empty cartridges if necessary.

Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on again. This simple step can sometimes fix connectivity or minor software issues.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This is a free tool that can diagnose and resolve many printing and scanning problems with HP printers.

Update Drivers and Firmware:

  • Check if there are any available updates for your printer drivers or firmware. You can do this through the HP support website or HP Smart app.

Check Connectivity:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer, whether via USB, wireless, or network connection.
  • If using wireless, ensure your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Sometimes clearing the print queue from your computer's settings can help. This can be done from the Devices and Printers section on Windows or Printers & Scanners on macOS.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
