Hi @My64,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Since you’re using a Windows Vista computer and need a color printer without a copier, your options are quite limited, as most modern printers no longer support Vista.
Here are your best options.
HP OfficeJet Pro 6230
- Connectivity: USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi
- Vista Support: Works with basic drivers (USB connection recommended)
- Pros: Reliable, ink-efficient, and good print quality
- Cons: Some features may not work fully on Vista
HP DeskJet 6988 (Used or Refurbished)
- Successor to HP 6940, similar design
- Vista drivers available
- Can be found used online
HP Business Inkjet 2800 (Used)
- Vista-compatible drivers available
- High-quality color printing
- Built for business use, so it’s durable
Things to Consider:
- Avoid HP+ models, as they require newer drivers that won’t work on Vista.
- Stick to USB or Ethernet models, as Wi-Fi setup on Vista can be problematic.
- If possible, consider upgrading to a newer OS, as most modern printers no longer support Vista.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
