Hi @44123136 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the "Printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed" error can be caused by several issues. Since you've already replaced the printhead and reset the printer multiple times, let's try these additional troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Ensure Proper Installation

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer cover and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Carefully remove and reinstall the new printhead. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  • Reinsert the ink cartridges and ensure they are seated correctly.
  • Close the cover and power on the printer.

2. Clean Electrical Contacts

Dirty or damaged electrical contacts can prevent the printhead from being detected.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and the printhead.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean the electrical contacts on:
    • The printhead.
    • The printer where the printhead connects.
  • Allow the contacts to dry for a few minutes before reinstalling the printhead and cartridges.

3. Use Genuine HP Parts

  • Ensure the printhead and cartridges are genuine HP products. Non-genuine parts can sometimes cause detection issues.

4. Update or Reinstall Firmware

Since you mentioned having the latest update:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer.
  • Reinstall the firmware to ensure it is properly applied.

5. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

  • If you haven’t already:
    • On the printer control panel, navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Settings.
    • Confirm the reset and restart the printer.

6. Check the Printer's Internal Components

  • Inspect the area inside the printer for any bent or damaged pins where the printhead connects.
  • If you notice damage, this may require professional repair.

7. Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect the power cord while the printer is powered on.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
