ASUS

After disabling my firewall I was able to install my new HP Envy 5505 with the HP app. I am connected wireless to my home network. Everything looks good, my ASUS laptop sees and communicates with the printer. I can scan but not print. I also have a Lenovo Yoga which works fine with the printer. I have tried everything suggested HP and the online support groups (uninstalling drivers and software, hard reset etc. etc.) with no success. Any help from someone who has experienced this and corrected it?

Welcome to HP support community.

Did you make a copy and check if that prints fine?

Are you getting any error message while printing?

Reply with the requested information for more assistance.

I got the error immediately when I hit print. I even reinstalled windows 10 .Someone on another form suggested creating a standard TCP/IP port for the printer and placing the printer's IP address in it. That did work, but I don't understand why I had to do that. Thanks
