I am trying to print on 7.25"x5.25" envelopes using my hp envy 7645 printer. Everytime i've tried to print it does nothing. (the printer does print when i am not trying to print envelopes) The printer won't support this size of envelope, per the paper handling section of the specifications. Is there anyway i can change this so i can print my envelopes with this printer???

We are trying to print addresses on envelopes for a wedding announcement using A7 envelopes.  Once we have used Mail Merge on Word, and everything is formatted correctly, any attempt to print on #10 envelopes, plain paper, or any other size of paper or envelope results in no printing whatsoever.  If we leave the Mail Merged document and try to print a regular Word document, it prints just fine.  Can you help us figure out what is happening?

@MamaPerk

Thanks for the reply,

I suggest you put 4 to 5 envelops and try to print.

Let me know if get any error message?

if get an error message, I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

have a great day!

Cheers:)

Hello! I've found the solution. If you've loaded Envelope A7 (That's 7.25 x 5.25) size in the main try and it still wont print using a Mac then do this.

1. Load envelope(s)

2. "Did you change paper" - select envelope A7 or 5x7

3. On your Mac device you'll see this Screen Shot 2018-11-30 at 4.46.31 PM.png

4. Select "Open in Preview" under the drop down menu.

5. You'll get the same document but now in Preview. Now print it from there and youll get this:

6. select "5x7" from here. *** I had used this screen shot for a diffrent envelope size.

7. Print and enjoy!

Hope this helped!!!

I noticed that I’m not able to see the pictures on a mobile device. So I’ll type the instructions over again.

1. Load envelope to the main tray

2. “Did you change paper” - select envelope A7 or 5x7 & plain paper

3. On your Mac device, select file> print or Command > P.

4. When the printing preview pops up, on the lower left hand side you’ll see a small square labeled PDF with a blue arrow next to it. Click the arrow.

5. Select “Open in Preview” from the drop down menu.

6. You'll get the same document but now in Preview. Now print it from there using file> print or Command> P.

7. From that pop up menus select 5x7 or A7 from the Paper Size drop down menu.

8. Print and enjoy!

Hope this helped!
