Hi @jaime1q2w3e,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When you encounter an error message indicating a problem with the printer or ink system on your HP Photosmart 7520, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait for 60 seconds, plug the power cord back in, and then turn on the printer.

Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed and that they are genuine HP cartridges. Sometimes non-HP or refilled cartridges can cause issues.

Clean Ink Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges and in the printer.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely.
  • Reinstall the ink cartridges.

Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no obstructions or debris in the printer, particularly around the ink cartridge area.

Update Firmware: Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP website or through the printer’s software on your computer.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for 15 seconds.
  • Release the power button, reconnect the power cord, and turn the printer back on.

Run a Printer Diagnostic: Use the printer’s built-in diagnostic tools to check for any issues. This can usually be done through the printer’s control panel menu.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
