Welcome to the HP English Community --
What you get depends on the printer, the app / software you are using, and -- depending on what you are trying to do -- your skill level.
For example,
Word > Mailings > Envelopes supports limited flexibility for return / destination address placement.
Look up -- on the 'Net - how to edit / configure / move the "address block" in Mail merge
True - HP Smart can print a PDF document that was Exported from a Word document that includes "envelope" information. This works but might be unsatisfactory due to the margin limitations.
Perhaps easier,
- If not done, install the Full Driver Printer Software (full feature) for the printer
- Alert the printer to your paper size and type - Tray and Paper - If printer supports, use paper size "Custom" if size is not listed
- If not done, create the Custom Paper Size form - Reference:
HP Document: HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes
- Create a Word document sized and shaped to match the envelope you want create and print.
- Print the document in Word.

Printer - Tray and Paper
When creating a manual envelope document, the same rules apply for having alerted the printer to the Paper Size and Type - Tray and Paper
Depending on your printer, Tray and Paper is most easily adjusted using the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Two Examples - EWS - Tray and Paper
Original EWS
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)
Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type
Model and EWS version Dependent: Advanced section
Click Apply to save changes
Example - EWS - Tray and Paper (Not DeskJet)
EWS_9025_Preferences_Tray_and_Paper_Management_All_13
OR
Example - (Alternate EWS format - select new InkJet printers and at least a few LaserJet printers)
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Section Paper > Trays > click on Tray to configure
Next (as available)
Section Print > Default Print Options > Select default options / tray
EWS_9135_Tray_and_Paper_8
EWS_9135_Print_Default_Print_Options_8

Word - Manual Envelope
Example - Word - Manual Sized / Shaped envelope
Manual_DL_Envelope_Text_Box_Insert_5
=========================================
Standard - Word > Mailings > Envelopes
NOTE >> Word > Mailings > Envelopes - Preferences and Envelopes
Select / leave preferred Printing Preferences Shortcut to "Everyday General Printing" or something equally benign.
Example - Word > Mailings > Envelopes
Rabbits_and_Chickens_Test_Envelope_10_16
