Hi,

 

after the update to firmware 1850B.00, the screen does not switch off anymore. This happens even when the screen off time is set to 5 min. Another thread with the same problem has been marked solved, however the solution proposed (replace empty cartridges) is not satisfactory for us (although kudos to the user who has proposed this solution). Why should we be forced to replace empty cartridges if we want sleep mode? 

 

 We would like to have the option to use the printer as a monochrome printer, as color printing is an option that is nice to have, but rather expensive if you do not require it. Do not get me wrong, this printer has been great for us and we have been enjoying it so far. 

 

The questions are, can I go back to a previous firmware (where this problem hopefully does not occur), and will this be fixed in future updates?

Since there is no apparent attempt to remedy the user unfriendly feature of not allowing standby mode when one of the cartridges is empty, we will not consider HP printers in the future.
