Update Printer Drivers: Make sure your printer drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP support website to download the latest drivers for your printer model.
Reset Printing System: This often resolves driver-related conflicts.
- Open System Preferences on your Mac.
- Click on Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Ctrl + click) on the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
- Re-add your printer after the reset.
Reinstall Printer Software: Uninstall the printer software, then reinstall it from the HP official site or use the HP Easy Start tool for installation.
Check for Software Updates: Ensure your macOS and all applications are updated to the latest version. Sometimes software updates fix compatibility issues.
Manually Add Printer: Sometimes macOS needs the printer added manually via IP or using generic drivers. This might bypass some driver issues causing the "Filter" Failed error.
