I see on my computer/desktop an icon leading to HP Scan app. What is that app for?

Do I need it, as I have no problem scanning using HP Smart? 

When I click on HP Scan icon, I get message "Imaging device not found".

- Exact model number of your HP Product (if you need help, click here for information on how to find your model number model).

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

- Let me know if the printer is connected to Windows Computer or MAC Computer or Android Phone or iPhone.

- Let me know the version of the operating system installed on the computer connected to the printer.
- Connection method - USB, physical LAN, or wireless?
- Snapshot of the issue.

Model of the printer is HP Envy 6055e.

OS - Windows 10 Professional

Connection to the printer - wireless. 

However, you are focusing on something that is irrelevant to my question. 

The question is what is the difference between apps HP Scan and HP Smart?

If I am using HP Smart, do I need HP Scan on my computer?

HP Scan is a scanning app.

As you already have HP Smart installed, you do not need HP Scan software.

I am confused with your answer now.

If I don't need HP Scan, why HP Support Assistant advises me to install HP Universal Scan? Isn't it the HP Scan?
