Hello,
I have an HP Smart Tank 795 printer that is stuck on the "Checking the Ink Tanks" message and is not responding to any commands. I have tried the following steps with no success:
- Performed a full power cycle by turning off the printer, unplugging it, and plugging it back in after a few minutes.
- Removed and reinserted the ink cartridges, ensuring they are properly installed.
- Checked the ink levels and ensured there were no blockages or tape on the cartridges.
- Updated the printer firmware to the latest version.
- Used the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose the issue, but it did not provide a solution.
- Performed a factory reset on the printer through the settings.
Despite these steps, the printer remains unresponsive, and the system appears to be completely stuck.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue. If there are additional steps I can try or if the problem requires service, please let me know.

If the printer is still stuck, you can try a semi-full reset from the hidden support menu:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Back (↩️) and OK (✔️) buttons together.
