Your solutions didn't work. I've set it up manually now. 

judging by the number of problems people are having isn't it about time you did something about it.

your help falls far short of what was needed. very unprofessional

When you get the message "HP software is setting up your printer" and it hangs - look on the lower right hand corner of he printer screen and you will see Ok.  Press on Ok and the installation will go into manual setup and complete the process.

The directions on manual setup saved me...and it was easy!
