HP LaserJet Pro M15w Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear Support,

I need help to Reset printer region, purchased in the US, after that moved to Europe(The Netherlands).

USA version of this printer is working properly with HP 48A  in USA (CF248A) toner cartridges  and Europe version is working properly with HP 44A (CF244A)

I need regional reset for this printer. I want to set printer to Europe Version. I live in Eu (NL) and I want to use NL cartridge (Hp44a).I bought one but it is not working☹

I called HP Netherlands customer services, a lady remotely tried many different ways to reset regional. More than forty minutes she tried.

She tried all options(including firmware update),All new drivers and hp software installed. But

she could not get the region code from the printer. It is printing with 1st region toner, usb cable is also working properly.

But with Hp Smart for learning region code, it is giving an error "an unexpected error has occurred while attempting to read printer information"

But she could not achieved it. How can we solve this problem. Error screenshot is attached.

Do you know the how to solve this problem? An Expert wanted.

This will need to be handled by an HP Support agent with access to the Regionalisation Reset tools.  I will ask to have your case escalated.

I would expect an agent will first contact you in this thread, and then request further information from you with a Private Message.  Do not post private information here, use only the Private Messaging system for this.

Hi @fxmer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you moved, and the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.

NOTE: regional reset is attempted on a best-effort basis, it might not work on all printers.

If this does not work, we cannot re-attempt it as it may brick the printer

However, since you have already tried, and usually we do not recommend attempting a second time.

If you wish to continue, reset the printer again to resolve this issue. provide the required details.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
