@Tonygenco, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Laser Jet printer.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

Resetting a password on an HP LaserJet printer typically involves accessing the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) or using the printer's control panel. Below are general steps you can follow to reset the password:

Resetting the Printer Password

  1. Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

    • Ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
    • Obtain the printer's IP address by printing a configuration page from the printer's menu. This is usually found under the “Reports” or “Network” menu.
    • Open a web browser and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar to access the EWS.
  2. Using the EWS:

    • Once in the EWS, look for the "Security" or "Settings" tab.
    • Navigate to the "Administrator Settings" or similar section.
    • Here, you should be able to reset the password. You may need the current password to make changes.
  3. Using the Printer's Control Panel:

    • On some printer models, you can reset the password directly from the control panel.
    • Access the menu and look for "Setup" or "Settings."
    • Navigate to "Security" and then "Administrator password."
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the password.
  4. Reset Printer to Default Settings:

    • If you cannot access the EWS or the control panel reset options, you may need to restore the printer to factory default settings. This will reset all settings, including the password.
    • Find the "Restore Defaults" option on the control panel, usually under "Settings" or "Service."
    • Confirm the reset and wait for the printer to restart.
  5. Consult the User Manual:

    • Refer to the printer’s user manual for model-specific instructions.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
