I replaced my original Envy Pro 6455; I need to restore settings so I can dispose of it. I had an Instant Ink account on that machine

@eileen40, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To restore the settings on your HP ENVY Pro 6455 printer before disposing of it, you would typically need to reset the printer to its factory defaults. This process will erase all custom settings, including wireless settings, accounts, and connections. However, before resetting the printer, ensure to manage your HP Instant Ink account associated with it.

Here’s how to perform a factory reset and manage your Instant Ink account:

Reset Your HP ENVY Pro 6455 Printer

Enter the Setup Menu:

  • On your printer, press the Wireless and Cancel buttons at the same time to turn on Setup Mode.

Restore Factory Defaults:

  • Using the touchscreen, navigate to Setup.
  • Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
  • You should see an option for Restore or Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Select this option and confirm if prompted.

Manage Your HP Instant Ink Account

Sign into Your Instant Ink Account:

Remove the Old Printer:

  • Navigate to the "Manage my Account" or "Printers" section.
  • Find your ENVY Pro 6455 and remove it from your account.

Cancel your Plan (if needed):

  • If you are not transferring the account to another printer, you may choose to cancel the plan to stop further charges.
  • Follow steps to cancel, ensuring that you are aware of the billing cycle details.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
