same printer listed twice

When I go to HP Smart, it says I have two printers, but when I click on that, it brings up the same printer twice. It's the only one I have, but one is always listed as 'offline,' even when the printer is on. (The other one is listed as online.) How can I get rid of the first listing, which I think sometimes leads to a stuck print queue? Thx.

Use printui to remove printers.

Run the following app from the command line

printui /s

Remove all references to the unwanted HP printer.

If you uninstalled all drivers, then Install the new driver and then search for the printer

Let me know what you find out.

I have the same issue with my HP color fax/scanner, less than a year old.  It worked fine until updates by HP and Microsoft.  Now, nothing works!  I get dual copies of printers despite deleting each one and starting over.  My scanner software doesn't work, whereas it did before!  I don't think HP or Microsoft (running Windows 13 Home) care.  Nothing prints.

I have one HP Smart Tank 7600 series. It shows up with that name, and also with the name HP Smart Printing. The second name does not work. 

Starting a few days ago, neither name worked. If I chose Smart Tank 7600 series and tried to print, Word or WordPerfect would just hang. 

With HP support, I changed the port for the printer from a WSD port to a new TCP/IP port I created. Now printing works. What's odd is that on my wife's laptop, she has the HP on the WSD port and it works fine. Both are Windows 11 laptops connected to the same router.
