@Fiskers, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Based on the image and your description, it looks like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 series printer is experiencing a scaling issue where prints are oversized unless manually scaled down to extremely low percentages (like 5%).

Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Check Application Print Settings

Sometimes the issue originates from the app you're printing from (e.g., Word, PDF viewer, browser).

  • Open the document in the app.
  • Go to File > Print.
  • Look for Scale, Fit to Page, or Page Setup options.
  • Set scaling to 100% or Fit to Printable Area.

Reset Printer Settings on Mac

If you're using macOS (as the screenshot suggests), try resetting the print system:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list.
  • Select Reset Printing System.
  • Re-add your HP printer.

Update or Reinstall HP Printer Driver

Corrupted or outdated drivers can cause scaling issues.

  • Go to Official HP® Support
  • Enter your printer model: HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 series.
  • Download and install the latest Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Use HP Smart App

Try printing via the HP Smart app to bypass system-level scaling issues.

  • Download from HP Smart for macOS. HP Smart
  • Add your printer and print the document from within the app.

Check for Firmware Updates

Outdated firmware can cause unexpected behavior.

If Issue Persists

Try printing a test page from the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app. If the test page prints correctly, the issue is likely software-related.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
