Hi @Sweetpee1969,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the Samsung SCX-3405W Laser Multifunction Printer primarily scans documents from the flatbed scanner (the glass surface) rather than from the paper tray. The paper tray is generally used for printing and copying. However, you can still scan multiple pages by placing them one at a time on the flatbed scanner. Here's how to do it:
Scanning from the Flatbed Scanner
Prepare the Document:
- Make sure the document you want to scan is clean and flat.
Open the Scanner Lid:
- Lift the scanner lid to reveal the glass surface.
Place the Document:
- Position your document face down on the glass surface, aligning it with the guides (usually found at the top left corner).
Access the Scanner Function:
- On your computer, open the Samsung Easy Document Creator or any other scanning software you prefer.
Select the Scan Option:
- Choose the scan option in the software. You can typically select the file format (PDF, JPEG, etc.) and resolution.
Scan the Document:
- Click the “Scan” button. The printer will scan the document and send it to your computer.
Repeat for Additional Pages:
- If you have more pages to scan, repeat steps 3 to 6 for each page.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
