What you do depends on your printer model, your Operating System / version, and the goal.

 

Example  "Scan to Computer"

 

Relevant to a supported version of Windows AND a supported printer model

 

  • Install the full driver printer software for your printer
  • Restart the computer and sign in
  • Open either the Printer Assistant or Scan Assistant shortcut icon on the Desktop

and

  • Enable the Scan to Computer feature
